John M. "Jack" Zimmerman

John M. “Jack” Zimmerman, 65 of Lake City, passed away at his home on Monday July 23, 2018 surrounded by his family following a courageous battle with cancer.
 He was born May 13, 1953 in Erie, a son of the late William H. and June (Rausch) Zimmerman.
 John graduated from Rice Avenue Union High School in 1971. Following high school he went to work at Tru Temper in Lake City and not long after went to work for Sterling Milk in Erie, which became Meadow Brook Dairy in Erie, retiring in May of 2018 following 47 years with the company. While working there he also worked for the Girard Presbyterian Church as a Maintenance Man.
 He was a member of the Girard Presbyterian Church, loved spending time with his family, working on his own vehicles and passing on that knowledge to his family. 
 In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca L. Zimmerman in 1999 and a sister, Cheryl Zimmerman.
 He will be greatly missed by his family, which include his wife, Theresa M. (Weber) Zimmerman, whom he married, June 19, 1971 in Girard also by four daughters, Tonya A. Bartley (Michael), Stacy S. Lyngarkos (Mark), Jill R. Simmons (David), Alyssa K. Staaf (Richard); a sister, Wendy S. Case (Paul); a brother, William H. Zimmerman Jr. (Jan); eight grandchildren, Timothy Bartley, Alex Wurst, Tabitha Wurst, Bryce Wurst, David Simmons Jr., Chloe Simmons, Samuel Simmons and Ava Staaf, also several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
 Friends may call on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Edder Funeral Home Inc., 309 Main St., East, Girard and are invited to attend services there on Friday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jim Rimmer officiating.
 In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Regional Cancer Center, 2500 W. 12th St., Erie, PA  16505
 Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Girard.
