John Knox Wilson, age 60, of Fairview, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and his music on Sunday, June 1, 2025.
He was born in Erie, PA on October 31, 1964, the son of the late Marlene (Hembold) Wilson-Waidley and George Wilson. He was a graduate of McDowell High School and the Motorcycle Institute. He devoted his entire career to Forest Park Honda and the team there became his second family.
John won numerous trophies as a motorcross competitor, including at High Point and the Blackwater 100. He was an avid golfer and skier, enjoyed watching supercross, and going to camp with his wife. A perfect night was simply sitting around the fire and listening to music with family that he loved so much. John enjoyed spending time with friends at the Cab, playing the Golden Tee and Pool. He loved his dogs, Wally and Nala, and his favorite barn friend, Doc, the donkey. John will always be remembered as a kind, beautiful soul.
He was best friends with his father in law, Richard Lee Minnich and enjoyed betting on NASCAR and also talking football over the phone. John loved his Dallas Cowboys.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his step-father, Robert Webster Waidley; and sister, Susan Elizabeth Wilson.
