John Stanley Schatz

John Stanley Schatz, 71, of West Springfield, Pennsylvania, passed away suddenly on December 28, 2024. Born on December 9, 1953, in Conneaut, Ohio, he was the son of the late Robert and Margaret Schatz.

At the age of 16, John met Patty Fails of East Springfield, Pennsylvania. Their connection blossomed into a devoted 50-year marriage filled with love and cherished memories. Together, they built a family that brought him immense pride and joy. John is survived by his beloved wife Patty; his sons John Schatz (Carrie) and Kevin Schatz (Stephanie); and his treasured grandchildren William, Mazzina, and Gavin Schatz. He is also survived by his brother Robert Schatz (Cheri); sisters Bonnie Allchin and Mary Moore; brother-in-law William Fails (Francine); and sisters-in-law Theresa Cznarnecki (Joe) and Becky Westgate (Barry). He was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws (Ralph and Betty Fails); sisters-in-law Judy Fawcett and Brenda Fails; niece Tabitha Fawcett; and nephew Shawn Moore.

John’s professional life reflected his exceptional craftsmanship and dedication. He began his career at Zurn's Aluminum before joining Mobil Grove Trail Park. For over three decades, he worked as a precision carpenter at Webb's/CW Ohio, where he specialized in creating jigs for cupolas and decorative windows.

Known for his ingenuity and resourcefulness, John had an extraordinary ability to fix anything, approaching challenges with a problem-solving spirit. Outside of work, he found joy in hunting, fishing, and spending time with those he held dear.

John will be remembered for his kindness, creativity, and the countless lives he touched through his work and relationships. His memory will remain a source of comfort to all who mourn his passing.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 3, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Edder Funeral Home, 309 Main St E., Girard, Pennsylvania, with a service to follow.
