John Daniel Knorr, 67, a loyal and devoted son, brother, husband, father, uncle and Papa died Saturday, March 29, 2025 with his wife and daughters by his side after a courageous battle with an aggressive cancer.
Born December 23, 1957 in Erie, Pennsylvania to the late Henry V. and Dorcas E. (Moorhead) Knorr, he was a lifelong resident of the Girard/Lake City area. He was part of the 1976 class of Girard High School and worked as a Supervisor at Marx Toys with his dad until it closed. He married the love of his life, Tammy Rose Bonnett, on October 21, 1978. He worked as a truck driver then went to trade school for tool and die landing a job at Lakeview Forge where he stayed for many years before his retirement to take care of his wife and in laws. John enjoyed hunting from a young age starting with his dad and brother up through adulthood with his son and nephew, Joey. He loved Cleveland sports especially watching the Browns and arguing with any Steelers fans he came across. He was the type of man that would tell you just what was on his mind. One thing he cherished most was his friendships, especially with the "McNorr's" having bon fires, going on biking/hiking trips, late night card games, Friday Night home footballs, and sledding. The happiest years of his life were raising his children and spending time with his grandkids. He loved keeping traditions alive with Kraynaks visits, making sugar cookies on his birthday, and taking getaways to Cook Forest.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death , step mother; Nora Knorr, in-laws; Ike and Helen Bonnett, step brother; Chuck Faytak, his son; Isaac Knorr, and his labs Putz, Tucker, and Lady.
He will forever be missed by those that survive him including his wife, Tammy, daughters; Ashley Betcher (Sam), Allison Till (Matt), grandchildren; Lillian, Kaitlynn and Ashlynn Till and Benjamin Betcher, brother; Bob (Mary), step sister; Debbie Kephart (Dave), step brother; Ed Faytak (Shelley), sister-in-law; Kathy Kunkle (Tim), many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his main companion, his dog Ace.
Friends may call on Thursday, April 3, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., with a funeral service starting at 6:00 p.m. at Edder Family Funeral Home, LLC, 309 Main Street East, Girard, PA 16417.
