John Bartosek Obituary

John D. Bartosek, age 93, died at home on Friday, April 23, 2021 surrounded by family.

  John was born on February 6, 1928 a son to the late Aloysiu and Helen (Kahala) Bartosek. John attended Albion High School. Following high school, he began work at Swanson's Boat and Ore. He then worked simultaneously at Model Works in assemble, the family farm, and Johns company B & S Construction. John stayed self-employed for many years as a block layer. Most recently he had contracted work through Lake City Housing, semi-retiring in his 70's.

  John enjoyed camping with the family at Folly's end frequently as well as many places throughout the countryside. When the children were growing, every Sunday included long cruises. John enjoyed traveling to the remote areas to hunt in the wilderness. He liked to keep his home in a quality condition also helping with yard work in the neighborhood. John enjoyed following NASCAR's Dale Earnhardt as well as WWE wrestling. He was a member of The Albion Moose Lodge #381.

  In addition to his parents John was preceded in death by a son, David J. Bartosek; two sisters, Mary Pavolko and Helen Artello; two brothers, Steve Bartosek and Frank Bartosek.

  He will be greatly missed by his family which include his wife, Jane (Mourer) Bartosek of 43 years; five daughters, Catherine Weaver (Donald), Diane Seebacher, Christine Zirkle (Charles), Kimberly Levy (Frank Frombach), and Fawn Huya; a sister, Martha Mikovitch; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Erie Humane Society 2407 Zimmerly Rd, Erie, PA 16506
