It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Janice L. (Wooten) Shiner, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, age 85, who passed away from complications of Parkinson's on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, surrounded by loved ones, at Manchester Commons of Fairview, PA (Janice previously resided in Conneautville, PA). She was born on November 23, 1939, a daughter to the late Oscar Wooten and Martha (Napier) Wooten.
Janice will be remembered for her unwavering love of family, her nurturing nature for her children, and her dedication of over 40 years to serving others as a Licensed Practical Nurse--first at Rolling Fields Nursing Home and later at Westbury Nursing Home--where she offered compassion and care to countless patients. As her children grew and started families of their own, some of Janice's happiest moments were when they gathered together! She would smile as she watched her loved ones laugh and reminiscence while she lovingly prepared a meal. Those moments became cherished traditions, always ending with her hopeful sentiment: "Lord willing," we'd see each other again.
In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Jerry L. Rash Sr.; second husband, Richard Shiner; sister, Patty Whitman; brother, Glen Wooten; grandchildren, Michael Rash Jr., Douglas Rash, Billy Rash; and great-grandson, Tommy Rash.
She will be greatly missed by her family which includes her daughter, Brenda Chizmar (Tim); sons, Michael Rash (Jeannette), Ricky Rash (Terri), and Jerry L. Rash Jr. (Judi); brother, Leon Taylor; 13 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131.
Friends may call on Friday, April 11, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Edder Family Funeral Home, LLC at 309 Main Street E, Girard, PA. A Funeral Service will be held there the following day, Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Burial will take place at Anderson Cemetery.
