Janice J. Gack, 85, of Girard, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at Pleasant Ridge Manor.
She was born in Erie, a daughter of the late Floyd and Marion (Hess) Curry.
She graduated from Fairview High School in 1957 and then worked at the Shriner's Hospital for Children in Erie as a Nurse’s Aide; the Manchester School cafeteria; and the YMCA. Later, she joined Lake Shore Country Club for 17 years where she managed the Halfway House Snack Bar. She most recently owned various dress and clothing shops, including The Fair Lady, in the area.
Janice was a member and attended St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Janice enjoyed her cats over the years, knitting, shopping, and bowling when she was younger. In her later years she loved fixing up her tiny house in the backyard.
She will be greatly missed by her family, which includes her Husband, William "Bill" Gack, whom she married in 1959 in Ripley, NY; her sons, William G. (Kym) Gack Jr. of Industry, PA, and Jeffrey A. (Brenda) Gack of Springboro; a sister, Karen (Terry) Unseld of Fairview; a sister-in-law, Michelle Curry of Fairview; a brother, Floyd (Bud) Curry and significant other Holly Manross of Cambridge Springs; four granddaughters, Candice (David) Matie, Erin (Ryan) Wagster, Stacy McFadden, Kristen Way; a grandson, James Gack; great-grandchildren, Ava Wagster, Logan Wagster, Andrew Matie, William Matie, Kathleen Matie, Mark Way, Adelyn Way, Noah Boring, Owen Boring, Ellie Boring, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Monday January 13, 2025, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at the Edder Funeral Home Inc. 309 Main St. E., Girard. A funeral service will be held there the following day, Tuesday, at 10:00 am, burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery and lunch at the Girard Legion following.
