Janet R. States

Janet R. States (Warner), 86, of Albion, passed away at her home on Thursday, March 13, 2025.

She was born on March 31, 1938, in Erie to the late LaVerne and Laura (Hall) Warner.

She married the love of her life, Alton States, on May 18, 1957, in Erie, PA.

Janet graduated from McDowell High School. She began working at UPMC Hamot as a cook. Later, she moved closer to home and worked at the Presbyterian Home in Girard as their head cook until it closed. Following that, she worked at Manchester Commons as a cook until her retirement. Janet was a lover of music and the Hallmark Channel and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Alton States and her brothers, Jerry and Paul Warner.

She is survived by her daughter, Tina Thomas (Darrell); sons, LeRoy States (Korena) and Edward States (JoAnna); sisters, Patricia Babka, Doris Harris and Nancy Miller (Gayle); and sister-in-law, Joan Warner. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Janet's name may be made to the Janet States Memorial Fund under the care of Edder Family Funeral Home, LLC.
