James B. Sherman, 80, of East Springfield, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024 at Edinboro Manor.
He was born in Albion, PA, a son of the late Edwin and Nora (Taylor) Sherman.
James graduated from Northwestern High School in 1962. Following high school he continued to work on the family dairy farm on Sherman Road until 1984. He then worked at Meadow Brook Dairy in Bushnell OH as a Farm Manager; then at Syak Dairy in Jefferson, OH as a Herdsman and most recently he was employed at Western Reserve Co-Op in Jefferson as a Mill Manager, retiring in 2009. James was a member of the Franklin Center United Methodist Church and was on the Board of Trustees. He enjoyed collecting baseball cards and loved to cut firewood. James also adored his Cleveland Browns and Indians.
He will be greatly missed by his family, which includes his wife, Rebecca Campbell Sherman, whom he married June 22, 1984 in Tidioute, PA; son, Jarrod (Paula) Sherman; stepsons, Doug (Alicia) Kleckner, Darwin (Rose) Kleckner and Kevin (Shannon) Kleckner; stepdaughter, Carrie (Kevin) Bennett; sister, Martha Hofmann; brother, Lawrence Sherman; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations in James name may be made to the Shriner's Children's Hospital, 1645 W 8th St, Erie, PA 16505.
According to James's wishes, there will be no calling hours observed.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Edder Funeral Home, Inc., Girard.
