Jack Edward Klemm, Sr., age 86, passed away at his home on Monday, January 17, 2022.
He was born on May 13, 1935, in Girard, a son of the late Edward and Agnes (Ball) Klemm.
Jack grew up in Platea and graduated from Girard’s, Rice Avenue Union High School in 1953. He worked many years at Copes-Vulcan in Lake City. Following retirement he spent more of his time hunting-there were hunting trips to Colorado, Montana, Canada, and to the family hunting camp on Bull Hill in Sheffield, PA. Jack was also a Deputy Game Warden with the Pennsylvania State Game Commission for several years. Jack also spent many hours fishing with Jeffrey and Cindy on Lake Erie.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Jack Edward Klemm Jr. in 1988 and William Brian Klemm in 2011; also, by four sisters, Virginia Weidler, Norma Sherman, Verna Barton, JoAnn Defranco and two brothers, William and James Klemm.
He will be sadly missed by his family, which include his wife, Joy (Hilgendorf) Klemm, whom he married June 11, 1956, in Meadville; his two daughters, Cindy L. Pacansky (James) and Sharon Klemm (Edward Hanzelka). He also leaves nine grandchildren, Jack E. Klemm III (Jill), James Pacansky (Michele), Jeffrey Pacansky (Valerie Jean), Justin Pacansky (Allison), Katelyn Ludrof (Joseph), Amanda Vroman (Nicholas), Andrea Reitz (Jordan)Kristin Pacansky and Brian Klemm; Eleven great grandchildren, Jack and Jordan Klemm, Colten Pacansky, Emersyn, Blake, and Owen Ludrof, Easton and Walker Reitz, Hazel and Harper Vroman, and Carson Klemm; a brother-in-law, Lloyd Weidler and several nieces and nephews.
As per Jack’s wishes, there will be no calling hours.
Memorials may be made to Hunt of a Lifetime, 6297 Buffalo Road, Harborcreek, PA 16421, to honor Jack’s passion.
