Obituary

Helen G. (Harmon) Robison, 91 of East Springfield died on Thursday September 7, 2023 at Pleasant Ridge Manor surrounded by family. 
 Helen was born May 9, 1932 in Girard, a daughter of the late Fred and Dorothy (Struchen) Harmon.
 She graduated from Rice Avenue Union High School in 1950 where she was a well known majorette, leading many parades through Main Street, Girard. While in high school she worked summers at the Marx Toy Company and following high school went to work there full time as an Assembler. With her own family arriving, she became a stay at home mom, taking care of them until she took a position at Northwestern School District where she worked for 17 years as Supervisor of 5 kitchens. Most recently she had been employed by Penn State Behrend as Head Cook for 13 years, retiring in 1997. During her retirement years she assisted her husband at Evergreen Lake Campground in all of the operations of the camp.
 Helen had been an active member of the Federated Church of East Springfield for many years. There, she assisted with the funeral ministry, all types of cooking at the church, was active in the Springfield Senior Center for 20 years, the Rebekah Lodge in East Springfield; The Springfield Women's Club and enjoyed bowling at El Camp Alley in Conneaut.
 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter in law, Terry (Broeckel) Robison in 2019; sisters, Betty Weisman and Virginia Blank; a grandson, Greg Broeckel.
 She will be greatly missed by her family including, her husband, Richard J. "Dick" Robison Sr., whom she married at Girard United Methodist Church on April 5, 1952; her daughter, Kathryn M. Vaux-Paden (Ty) of Conneaut, OH; her sons, Donald J. Robison (Nancy) of Jamestown, NY, Robert R. Robison of Sturgeon Bay, WI, Richard J. Robison Jr. (Chris) of Anderson, IN.; twelve grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

 Memorials may be made to the Federated Church 11995 Main St. East Springfield. 

 Friends may call on Wednesday September 13, 2023 at Edder Funeral Home Inc, 309 Main St. East, Girard from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and attend services, officiated by Pastor Ed Huntley the following day, Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Federated Church. Burial will follow at the Springfield Cemetery.
