Harley T. McBride, 65, of Girard, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2024, at Pleasant Ridge Manor.
Harley was the son of the late Thomas and Margaret (Gomoelkoff) McBride, born on October 10, 1959, in Erie.
He graduated from East High School and went on to continue his education to be trained as a machinist. Throughout his career, Harley held a variety of jobs but primarily worked at Bush Industries Inc., PHB Inc., and General Electric (GE) as a machinist. He retired from GE after being diagnosed with cancer.
Harley was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and camping. He was also a passionate football fan, especially devoted to his beloved Buffalo Bills. Harley was a proud son's member of the Girard American Legion Post #494, where he served on the color guard and was a past Son's of the American Legion Post Commander.
In addition to his parents, Harley was preceded in death by his infant son, James McBride; brothers, Kevin and Thomas McBride; and a grandchild, Montana Enssle.
Harley is survived by his wife, Penny McBride; daughter, Kayla Enssle (Matthew); son, Shawn McBride (Angela); stepson, Michael Enssle; sister, Michelle McBride; brothers, Eric, Richard, Gregory and Mark McBride (Debbie); grandchildren, Cody McBride, Brandon McBride, Madison Enssle, and Caden Enssle; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Harley’s name may be made to the Harley McBride Memorial Fund under the care of Edder Funeral Home.
Friends may call on Monday, November 25, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Edder Funeral Home in Girard. A funeral service will follow calling hours at 7:00 PM.
