Grace Bennett Obituary

Grace I. "Irene"  (Jones) Bennett, 95, of Albion, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at Regency at South Shore.
 She was born November 3, 1926 in Cranesville, a daughter of the late James C. and Sylvia (Taylor) Jones.
 Irene graduated from Albion High School in 1944. Following high school she worked for A & P Grocery Store in Albion and later Kennedy’s Store in Cranesville. For many years she was known throughout the area for baking cakes for weddings and events. She had fond memories of making clothes for her family and her priority was always taking care of them. In the 1960’s she was appointed as a Registrar for the State of Pennsylvania, where she filed documents for individuals with the state.
 She was a member of the Wellsburg United Methodist Church until its closing. Upon the closing of the Wellsburg Church she became a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. She had been an active member holding many offices and acted as a Sunday School Teacher for over 50 years.  Grace and her husband were recognized in 1983 as “Sunday School Teachers of the Year”. 
 In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard A. Bennett in 1983, also by sisters, Gladys Sherman, Lucille Johnson, Ruth Campbell and Bonnie Jones in infancy; her brothers, LeRoy, Harold ,Clyde and Arnold Jones; and a grandson, Todd Olesnanik; sisters in law, Shirley Jones, Norma Jones, Ruth Jones, Audrey Jones and Bobbie Jones;  brothers in law, Jim Sherman,  Hugh Campbell and George Callahan; and a son in law, Woody King.
 She will be greatly missed by her family, which includes her daughters, Shirley J. King (Mario Angelero) of Port Charlotte, FL, Beth E. Olesnanik (Steve); a son, Loren C. Bennett (Mollie) of Cranesville; her grandchildren, Tim Olesnanik (Mary); Tom Olesnanik ; Kelly Lascak, Travis Bennett; two step grandchildren, Cody and Dillon Jundzilo; a sister, Elsie M. Callahan; brothers, Bernell Jones and Edward Jones (Charlene); also several nieces and nephews.
 Friends may call at the Edder Funeral Home, 309 Main St. East, Girard on Thursday from 2PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM. Services will be held there on Friday at 12:00PM with Rev. Harry Johns officiating.
 Burial will be in the Hope Cemetery, Wellsburg, PA.
  Irene's family would like to express their gratitude to Erie VNA Hospice  Nurses and Caregivers, Leslie, Aron, Christine, Sharon and Jody for their exceptional care.
