Gloria Jean (Hudy) Bochert

Gloria Jean (Hudy) Bochert, 78, of Edinboro, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026.

Born on July 4, 1947, Jean was the daughter of the late Matthew and Helen (Koman-Shields) Hudy. She was a 1965 graduate of General McLane High School.

Throughout her life, Jean was known for her love and devotion to her family. She took great pride in her beautiful flower gardens and the stunning flower baskets that filled her backyard and patio. Christmas was her favorite time of year, from decorating her home to shopping, which always began in July. She also enjoyed taking her faithful dog, Lexi, on long drives or simply "chillin'" by the lake. Last but certainly not least, one of her favorite pastimes was visiting the casino or playing pull-tab tickets at the clubs with friends and family. Whatever she was doing, Jean always had a smile on her face and was simply happy to be alive.

Jean worked at Van Houten Dining Hall for more than 30 years. She was also a member of VFW Post #740 and Engine House #39 in Edinboro.

Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lee Bochert, whom she married in 1966; her daughter, Teri Banks LeGrand; her brother, Thomas Hudy; and her grandsons, Levi Snyder, Matthew Johnson, and Joseph Otteni.

She is survived by her daughter, Tina (Sid) Otteni of Edinboro; her son, Michael Bochert of Edinboro; her brother, Dennis Hudy (Nancy) of Edinboro; her grandchildren, Michael (Jessica) Johnson, Amanda (Scott) Snyder, Kyle Skinkis, Cody Banks, Madison Bochert, Emma Bochert, Sofia Bochert, and Stephanie Otteni; eight great-grandchildren; a niece and two nephews; and countless other family members and friends who will dearly miss her.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jean's name may be made to the Jean Bochert Memorial Fund, in care of Edder Family Funeral Home, 309 Main St. E., Girard, PA 16417.

Friends may call on Thursday, July 2, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7:00 p.m. at Edder Family Funeral Home.
