Glenn Simkovitch

Glenn A. Simkovitch, 68, of Girard died on May 17, 2022 at his home.

Glenn was born May 1, 1954 in Erie, a son of the late Andy and  Jean (Malutich) Simkovitch.

  He graduated from Girard's Rice Avenue Union High School in 1972, where he was active in football and baseball. After graduation he worked at Marx Toys in Girard, Nicola DiPlacido Masonry, Frank Macko Construction, Rich's Lake Shore Frozen Foods and Lowe's Home Improvement.

  Glenn was a member and an active church councilman of SS. Cyril and Methodius Byzantine Catholic Church. He was also a member of Sons of the American Legion Post #494 Girard and was PIAA Basketball and Football Referee for 25 years. Glenn was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5430. He enjoyed turkey and deer hunting, camping, crossword puzzles and playing cards.

In addition to his parents Glenn was preceded in death by his nephew, Andrew C. Simkovitch II

He will be greatly missed by his twin brothers Richard M. Simkovitch and his wife Dannetta of Lake City and Andrew C Simkovitch of Girard, his brother, John D. Simkovitch and his wife Mary Ellen of Lake City; nephew Harland Simkovitch; and nieces Jessica Simkovitch, Christine Skidmore, Sarah Simkovitch, Julie Buckner, Renae Simkovitch her husband (Brian Mcardle), Leighann Buzanowski, and Alison Montgomery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to SS Cyril and Methodius Church.

Friends may call on Tuesday May 24, 2022 at the Edder Funeral Home Inc. 309 Main St. E. Girard, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. the following day Wednesday May 25, 2022 a Memorial Liturgy will be held at SS Cyril & Methodius Church 1022 Tilden Dr, Girard at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery.
