George A Sypin Jr. 61, of Erie died on Wednesday November 3, 2021 at his home.
George was born in Erie, PA on January 12, 1960 a son to the late George A. Sr. Mary (Barone) Sypin.
He attended Technical Memorial High School. Following high school he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1977. George was last stationed at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island. He was assigned to River Assault Craft Recruit Training Regiment.
Following George's discharge where he served honorably he returned to the Erie area. George worked as a mechanic most of his life, most recently with National Auto Sales. His skills as a technician were fine tuned over many years of greasy hands. He helped many people who had difficulties on vehicles. George loved his grandchildren often getting together on weekends and holidays. He also could often be found casting a line on Lake Erie or local streams, finding some peace of mind in fishing.
In addition to his parents George was preceded in death by his sister, June Sypin.
George will be greatly missed by his family which include a brother Kenneth Sypin; sister, Elizabeth Sypin; step-daughter, Michele Shingle (Melvin Ondreako); step-sons, Charles Mountain Jr., Steven Mountain (Shari Dunn), Keith Mountain, Joe Mountain; step-grandchildren, Kristina McBride (Rob), Mark Ondreako (Dae'Onna), Breann Ondreako, Kaitlynn Ondreako, Charles Mountain III, Kelsea Mountain, Lyndsay Mountain, Tiffany Mountain, Nathan Spencer, Brittany Mountain, Brent Dunn, Keith Mountain Jr., Cody Mountain; great-grandchildren, Alijah Tabb, Ariel Bridges-ray, Micah Salchli, Lavelle Beason, Lye'Onna Beason, Kam'Ren Ondreako, Emari Ondreako, Rick Noble Jr., Jack Noble, John Noble, Isabella Noble, and Remington Noble.
