Frank Hudy Obituary

Frank P. Hudy, 89, of Lake City, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 17, 2022 with his loving family by his side.

He was born on August 5, 1932, a son to the late John and Mary (Sowa) Hudy in Franklin Center, PA.

Frank was married to the love of his life, Peggy (Cotton) Hudy on October 25, 1952 until her passing on February 11, 1988.

Frank served his country as a Corporal in the US Army in the Korean War and was very proud of his military service.  His Grandsons followed him into the military with the Air Force which made him very proud.

Frank was employed as a carpenter with Dewey Vogt Construction for many years and built many homes in the Girard area.  He then went on to work his dream job with Tom Tushak Construction as a Foreman for many years and considered them family. He didn't consider it work because he loved what he did and worked there until he was 80 years young.  Working was his hobby.

He attended St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Girard and was a Life Member of the Girard American Legion Post #494 in Girard.

He will always be remembered as the Jack of All Trades and there was no job too big or small that he couldn't handle.

Frank and Peggy were blessed with two children, Jeff Hudy and Cindy (Dan) Williams.

He was the loving Grandfather of Danielle (Tony) Cassady and Michael (Devin) Williams and was the adored Great Grandpa to Leighton and Harper Cassady and  Savannah and Luke Williams. He is further survived by a sister, Rosalie "Rose" Harayda; in-laws, Pat Niedzielski, Melissa "Missy" Niedzielski, Dale Williams and David Williams; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by sisters, Genevieve Kimmins, Mildred Jelm, Tilda Bondaruk, Louise Lewandowski; brothers, Matthew Hudy, Stanley Hudy, Leonard Hudy, Edward Hudy and Joseph Hudy; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Thursday from 4PM to 7PM at Edder Funeral Home Inc., 309 Main St. East, Girard and attend a Prayer Service there on Friday at 10 AM with Rev. Scott Detisch officiating.
