Elizabeth A. (Dean) Tallman, 78, died on Monday, November 8, 2021 at Pleasant Ridge Manor.
Elizabeth was born on April 17, 1943 in Elk Ridge, WV to the late Ernest C. and Carshul M. (Willey) Dean. She was a graduate of Northwestern High School Class of 1962. Following high school she worked in various positions in the Erie area. Elizabeth worked with Erie County Geriatrics Center (now Pleasant Ridge Manor) as a cook and after some health problems she was a stay at home mother.
Elizabeth was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church in Cranesville. She was a member of the church choir, enjoyed singing solos and preparing food for luncheons. She was Judge of Election for Platea Boro and enjoyed gardening and cooking. She cooked with love using many recipes she created over the years and countless cookbooks. Elizabeth gave throughout her life, people were always welcome into her home.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Tallman, whom she married on December 22, 1990; her sisters, Karen McConegly, Paulean Yazembiak and Helen Barko; half sisters, Gladys Jones and Dorothy May; brothers, Harold Jones, Eathel Dean and Ernie Dean.
She will be missed by her family which includes two sons, Ronald C. Kolesar and Matthew A. Kolesar both of Platea; sisters, Eva M. "Mickey" Wolff of Lake City, Della L. Natola (Charles) of Brookpark, OH and Jeanie Clevenger (Al) of Elkhart, IN; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Leader Dogs, 1039 S Rochester Rd., Rochester Hills, MI 48307 or to Guide Dogs for the Blind, 32901 SE Kelso Rd., Boring, OR 97009.
A time for family will be held at a later date.
