Edward J. "Rusty" Wilson, 79, of Girard, passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025, at Pleasant Ridge Manor.
He was born October 7, 1945, to the late Elmer "Red" and Mary (Eagley) Wilson.
Rusty graduated from Rice Avenue Union High School in 1964. He attended Edinboro University, studying elementary education. He worked in industrial sales for his father at E.E. Wilson in Lake City and at The Appliance Store as a salesman in Erie. He retired as a courier from Associated Clinical Laboratories.
Rusty was a lifelong member of Grace Episcopal Church in Lake City, where he served as a member of the church vestry, senior and junior warden, and as a lay reader. He was also an active assistant scoutmaster in the Boy Scouts of America.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas L. Wilson.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Susan M. (Crosby) Wilson, whom he married on July 15, 1972, in Girard; two sons, Michael Wilson (Lorraine) and Joseph Wilson (Annu); two sisters, Diane McKnight and Judith Jones (William); grandchildren, Jacob Wilson, Elliana Wilson, Hadley Wilson; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Rusty's name may be made to A.F. Dobler Hose and Ladder Company, 37 Walnut St, Girard, PA 16417.
