Edward Perkowski Obituary

Edward J. Perkowski Sr., age 91, of Girard, passed away Friday, December 18th in Girard after a brief illness. Ed was born October 9, 1929 in Erie, a son of the late Walter and Mary (Brocious) Perkowski.

He graduated from Erie's Academy High School in 1950 and was later inducted into the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Following basic training he was deployed to Roquefort, France where he served as a staff cook. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to the Erie area where he later began working for Parker-White Metal in Fairview (now PHB) which he retired from.

Ed was a quiet man who loved his wife and family very much, taking great pride in his grandchildren and grand-puppies. He enjoyed cheering on his Pittsburgh teams and gardening, especially growing flowers for his beloved wife. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his beloved wife, Rebecca (Petri) Perkowski; three sisters, Mary Yovich, Frances Gool, and Dorothy Kujan, and a brother, Joseph "Bud" Perkowski; a sister-in-law, Lea Perkowski.

Ed is survived by three daughters, Belinda F. Rozzel (Douglas) of Cleveland, OH, Tonya W.Wienczkowski (Alan) of Erie and Bridget L. Perkowski of Lake City; four sons, Jack W. Petri (Brenda) of Erie, Edward J. Perkowski Jr. of Belgrade, NE, Walter J. Perkowski of Conneaut, OH and Joseph A. Perkowski (Marilyn) of Erie; two brothers, Albert Perkowski and Leonard Perkowski of St. Petersburg, FL; nine grandchildren, one great granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held privately by the family.
Burial will be at Erie County Memorial Gardens.
