Edward Donald Owens, 87, of Albion, passed away on Monday, December 18, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born in Lockport, NY on May 27, 1936, a son of the late James E. and Mildred J. (Mills) Weed and Edward Owens.

Ed moved to Fairview at a young age and graduated from high school in 1954. Following high school, he began work at Erie Mop and Ringer in Girard where he chased after his future bride, Kathleen. Ed and his family were very involved in their church for many years. He was also known to lead a bible study during lunch at the workplace as well as Sunday school lessons. On occasion, Ed would step in as the Pastor. Most recently he was a member of the Cranesville Bible Church where he led a weekly bible study and sponsored a weekly ping pong ministry. He enjoyed archery competition with a recurve bow. Ed also enjoyed coaching volleyball and refereeing both volleyball and basketball. He also enjoyed playing and teaching his family the sport of ping pong. He and his wife Kathleen also enjoyed traveling the country visiting family in their retirement years. Ed also enjoyed spending time with his sons, grandsons and his friend Bill Deets, hunting. He was known for telling his grandsons to "Do good things."

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen (Pavolko) Owens, whom he married June 1, 1957, in Crossingville and a sister-in-law, Patricia Owens.
