Douglas Sobczak Obituary

Douglas Sobczak, 57, of Albion, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at UPMC Hamot.

He was born November 24, 1968, a son of Norman and Edna (Warren) Sobczak.

Doug graduated from Northwestern High School and from an early age, he and his brother, Chris, shared a deep love for cars and motorcycles. Together, they painted countless motorcycle gas tanks and cars, customizing them to perfection; they often offered their talents to help a friend. His wife, Christine, also played a creative role in many of their projects, helping make each piece unique.

Doug and Christine loved traveling across the country on their motorcycle, attending large rallies and visiting raceways and drag races. Roar on the Shore was a yearly highlight that marked the riding season. Their garage was often a gathering place filled with laughter, friendship, and ongoing projects. Many evenings were spent around a fire with friends and family or visiting together at the Home Tavern.

Their passion for all things motorized also extended to four-wheelers, side-by-sides, and snowmobiles. Doug took pride in learning how to repair and maintain each one. He enjoyed local rides with friends and family, as well as memorable group trips to Tug Hill.

Doug was a dedicated employee of Hydro-Pac, where he painted high-pressure industrial machines. He began working there in 1989 and remained a loyal and valued employee throughout his career.

Doug will be greatly missed by his beloved wife, Christine (McGee) Sobczak, whom he married on May 17, 1997; his parents, Norman and Edna (Warren) Sobczak; his aunt, Darlene Sobczak (Marilyn); his brother, Christopher Sobczak (Susan); his niece, Jessica Klemm (Jason); and many other cherished family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Orphan Angels Cat Sanctuary and Adoption Center, 5439 W. Lake Road, Erie, PA 16505.
