Donna J. (Sickafuse) Rodgers

Donna J. (Sickafuse) Rodgers, 89, of Girard, died Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Pleasant Ridge Manor.
  
She was born on September 5, 1932 to the late James and Lois (Gibson) Sickafuse in New Castle, PA. She graduated in 1950 from Harlansburg High School, (Lawrence County) as the salutatorian of her class. After moving to Lake City in 1963, Donna worked at the various businesses located currently at Maple Donuts; they were known as Town-Square Foods, Melody Lane, National Industries, Heinz, Ore-Ida and Rich's Frozen Foods.  She worked there for 32 years, initially in general labor and lastly in Quality Control.  

Her favorite past time at Pleasant Ridge was playing cards, scrabble and Bingo.
 
Donna is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Ann Bible; son, James Stewart Rodgers (Jaci); grandchildren, Victoria Miller, Jenna Kalicky, Jake Kalicky, James Rodgers (Kaitlin) and John Rodgers (Dan); great-grandchildren, Joshua Focht, Mychal Miller, Hudson Rodgers and Lucie Rodgers and several nieces and nephews. 
  
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J. Stewart Rodgers, whom she married on June 21, 1952 in New Castle, PA; a daughter, Janice Irene Kalicky and her husband Julius, son-in-law, Edward Bible; sisters, Millicent Thompson, Etta Johnson and Lois Mae; brothers, Joseph Sickafuse and Leal Sickafuse.
  
Friends may call on Tuesday, December 14th at Edder Funeral Home Inc., 309 Main St. East, Girard from 3 PM to the time of service at 5 PM.
  
Burial will take place in the Girard Cemetery.

Donna's family would like to express their gratitude for the exceptional care and compassion of their mother at Pleasant Ridge Manor Unit A, especially, her caregiver, Dan Phillips.
