Donna I. (Peckham) Moodie

Donna I. (Peckham) Moodie, 92, of Girard, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born July 18, 1932, to the late Glenn F. and Dorothy E. (Schuster) Peckham.
Donna graduated from Rice Avenue Union High School in 1950. Following high school she attended Ohio University for one year before returning home to be with her future husband John "Jack" Moodie Jr. whom she married March 29, 1952. Donna worked at Marx Toys for a time before her children were born. She was a home maker for most of her life. Enjoying every moment with her own children, including babysitting friends and neighbors children.
Donna has been a life time member of the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Girard, working as the secretary there for many years. She also worked as the secretary for the Hazel Kibler museum. Donna also loved to use her talents in embroidery to give gifts to her family, making them all center pieces for the family table around the holidays. 
Donna was preceded in death by her husband John "Jack" Moodie, on July 24, 2020 and her sister, Nancy Sisson who died September 22, 2020, and son-in-law, Alan Elkin on February 22, 2023. 
She will be greatly missed by her family which includes two daughters, Irene Moodie (Bill Sunderlin) of Ft. Pierce, FL, and Debra Elkin of Rochester Mills, PA; a son John N. "Jack" Moodie III (Lisa) of Girard; Seven grandchildren, Galen Sunderlin, Morgan Stelick, Aaron Sunderlin (Kelley), Colby Elkin (Amy), Amanda Moodie (Doug Slater), Greg Gruda (Shawn), John N. Moodie IV; nine great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews. 
 Friends may call on Wednesday from 2 to 4PM and 6 to 8 PM at Edder Funeral Home Inc., 309 Main St. East, Girard and attend services there on Thursday at 10 AM.
 Burial will be in the Girard Cemetery.
 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Unitarian Universalist Church, 107 Myrtle St., Girard, PA 16417
