Donna M. (Aichner) Kozar

Donna (Aichner) Kozar, 75, of Erie went to be with the lord on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.

She was born October 24, 1950, a daughter to the late Roy and Clara (Hartman) Aichner.

Donna graduated from Academy High School. She began working as early as ninth grade, helping her family however she could. Her compassion for others led her to a lifelong career in caregiving. She first worked as a nurse aide at St. Mary’s Home, where her dedication was evident. This calling continued through her years at Pleasant Ridge Manor and later at the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Home, where she not only worked in the kitchen but also served as Director of the Activities Department. After a lifetime of service, she retired gracefully at the age of 65.

Family was always at the center of Donna’s life. She cared deeply for her loved ones and cherished time spent together. She and her husband shared a love for the water, spending countless days boating and fishing at Lake Erie, Pymatuning, and Moraine State Park. Each autumn, she and her family would fill their shelves with canned goods for the winter months. Donna was also a talented seamstress and quilter, often mending clothes and creating handmade gifts with care. She was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Mark Kozar.

She will be greatly missed by her family which includes her husband, Michael J. Kozar whom she married February 16, 1974; sons, Michael J. Kozar Jr. and Joseph Kozar (Dawn Horn); daughter-in-law, Martha Kozar; brothers, Charles Aichner and David Aichner; sisters, Judy Vicenyo and Patty Ore; grandchildren, Donovan Kozar, Sydney Kozar, Emmett Kozar, Payton Kozar; as well as multiple nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials, may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children, 1645 W 8th St., Erie, PA 16505.

Friends may call on Sunday March 29, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Edder Family Funeral Home, LLC, 309 Main St. E., Girard. A Funeral Mass will be held the following day, Monday, at 10:00 am at St. Luke's Catholic Church, 421 E 38th St, Erie, PA 16504.
