Donald Frank Kuntz, Jr. passed away on March 10, 2022 after a very extended illness. He was born on November 27, 1943, a son of Donald F. Kuntz, Sr. and Ruth (Berklife) Kuntz.
He graduated from McDowell High School in 1963. Following high school he was on his way to Vietnam with the U.S. Army, he married Thora Molter on April 26, 1966, in Erie, PA.
Don was inducted into the U.S. Army in 1965 and deployed to Vietnam with the 820th Ordinance Company, 184th Ordinance Battalion and spent a year overseas. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and was honorably discharged as Sergeant in 1967.
He loved the Lord and his family. He was an amazing cook, talented craftsman and hard worker. He never stopped, not for a minute providing for his family, no matter how many jobs or hours he had to work. He was a small business owner, farmer, welder and made the best dill pickles and sauerkraut. He grew and canned his own food, owned and operated a pizza shop, raised four sons and only missed church when he was sick. His faith was quiet, but real. After many years of pain, he is now pain free and with his Lord.
He was the proud husband to Thora (Molter) Kuntz for almost 56 years and father of Marc (Tracy), Brian (Maureen), Dale and Scott (Stacy). He was also blessed with grandchildren, Rebekah (Pieplow), Sarah (Gabriel Woodward), Elisabeth (Michael Sylvester), Joshua, Emily, Matthew, Kimberly, Daniel, Nathan, Autumn, Michael, Courtney, Jacob and Jonathan Kuntz. He was further blessed with great grandchildren, James, Charles, Theodore, Wyatt, Maximus, Alice and Arthur.
