Dolores M. (Luebkert) Thompson

Dolores M. Thompson, 90, of Lake City, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, October 7, 2023.
She was born in Pittsburgh on November 18, 1932, a daughter of the late Carl and Mary Luebkert.
Dolores graduated from Carrick High School in 1950 in Pittsburgh. She and her husband Walt moved to Girard in 1982 and later to Lake City in 1995, where she has resided since. She volunteered for many years at the Erie Zoo in the dietary department for the animals. She also volunteered for Meals on Wheels for over 15 years in West Erie County. Dolores enjoyed cross stitching and making many items for the family home, family members and friends.
She was a long-time member of St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church in Girard, where she served on the Altar Guild and assisted there in many ways.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Luebkert and a grandson, Aaron Glass.
She will be greatly missed by her family, which include her husband, Walter S. Thompson, whom she married November 2, 1950, in Pittsburgh; three daughters, Debra L. Swanson (Keith), Judith “Judy” Wagner (Joseph) and Cynthia L. Glass (Kevin); a son, Carl E. Thompson (Mary Ann); grandchildren, Brittany, Derek, Joseph, Adam, Anna, Ashton, Austin, Carl M., Jason and Craig; seventeen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours or services observed at this time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 8942 West Ridge Rd., Girard, PA 16417.
