Diana R. (Justice) Fetterman, 72, of Lake City, died Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at UPMC Hamot.
She was born January 14, 1949, in Landville, West Virginia, a daughter of the late John M. and Ruth G. (Runyon) Justice.
She graduated from Dover High School in Dover, New Jersey. Following high school, she lived in New Jersey and began employment at the Morristown Memorial Hospital where she became a phlebotomist. She later worked for St. Clare’s Denville Hospital in Denville, New Jersey as a cardiac care technician. While employed there she played girls softball and volleyball. This is where she met her future husband, Robert “Bob” Fetterman, who was stationed at Picatinny Arsenal in New Jersey. After getting married on August 28, 1976, the couple moved to Lake City, where she lived the remainder of her life. She was looking forward to celebrating their 45th wedding anniversary.
Diana loved interacting with people and enjoyed working as a waitress at Po Folks and later Cracker Barrel. She loved shopping and cooking and purchased almost every new cooking gadget she discovered. She was a devoted wife and friend who was always looking out for others.
Diana assisted the Lake City United Methodist Church in many ways helping with funeral dinners and various other functions. She was a member of the Girard American Legion Post #494 Auxiliary and a former member of the Lake City Fire Co. Auxiliary.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Michael Justice.
Her family includes her husband, Robert “Bob” Fetterman; sisters in law, Elizabeth Heise (John) and Marylin Justice; brother-in-law, Thomas D. Fetterman (Jill); nieces, Brean Bennett (Jacob), Brandy Lynn Walker (Michael), Anna Ott (Travis), Katie Love (Ben), Megan Heise; uncle Tom Runyon (Irene); aunt Mamie Sheehan. She had no sisters, but she was especially close to many of her cousins from the Runyon and Workman families.
Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Edder Funeral Home Inc., 309 Main St. East, Girard and are invited to attend services there on Monday at 10 A.M. with Rev. Brock Beveridge officiating.
Burial will follow with a Horse Drawn Carriage, preceded by a jazz band, (As per Diana’s wishes) in Girard Cemetery.
