Deborah ‘Debs’ Servey lost her brave battle with cancer at UPMC Hamot on July 5th 2023. She was born April 30, 1956, at an Air Force Base in MA, Debs graduated from Girard High School and later earned a Master's Degree in Library Science at Clarion University and an additional Master's in Curriculum Education at Edinboro University.
Debs was the Librarian at Mercyhurst Prep School for many years. She also developed the first curriculum for teaching computer skills to their students and put those skills to use herself.
She left Mercyhurst Prep for a position at LECOM School of Medicine in their Medical Library in 2014. She really loved helping the students there, and lived for Bone Box Month! Debs retired in July of 2020.
Debs was into the Paranormal and worked with TAPS/ Ghost Hunters. She participated in many investigations and enjoyed hanging out with Jason Hawes.
Debs was also a huge hockey fanatic. She was an avid supporter and amateur photographer of the Championship Erie Blades and cheered for the Boston Bruins, Pittsburgh Penguins and any team on which her good friend Ruslan Fedotenko played. Her favorite players besides Ruslan were Kris Letang and Patrice Bergeron.
AC Milan was her favorite football team and she traveled twice to Italy as guest of the team. Debs also went on many trips to Canada, Europe and Washington DC.
Debs loved to laugh and could "school" you on the solar system, Star Trek (OG), anatomy, and music. She traveled around the country and Canada as an avid Rock Band Fan with Glass Tiger, The Fixx, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam and Inflatable Soule. She cared deeply for her family, friends and fur babies.
She was predeceased by her father and mother, Carl and Kay(McKissick) Servey, along with her other family, Walter and Ginny Blank who loved her like their own.
Debs is survived by her Best friends Lin and Terry Blank, who were like a sister and brother; She is also survived by her Uncle Paul Servey and Aunt Judy. She leaves behind her spoiled black cat, Fedsie.

No calling hours will be observed as per Debs’ wishes. However, there will be a Celebration of Life at Parkside at Westminster 3929 W 38th St, Erie, PA 16506 on September 30, 2023 at 1:00 PM.
