David Zolner Obituary

DAVID ZOLNER, 85
David went home to his Lord and Savior on October 30, 2021. He was born January 30, 1936, a son of the late James O. and Alene (Zufall) Zolner.
David graduated from Punxsutawney High School. Following graduation, he began work for General Electric. He then enlisted in the United States Army where he began his drafting career. He was very proud of having the opportunity to design the 1st Infantry Brigade uniform patch.
Upon returning home, David graduated from Williamsport Technical School and started working as a draftsman for AMSCO Medical Equipment. David retired from the now Steris Corporation in 1998 where he designed many pieces of equipment that are now patented in his name.
David was also a skilled craftsman, designing and building multiple garages, decks and patios with a co-worker in the Erie area. He also built an addition on his own house which included a beautiful stone fireplace. David's creativity not only consisted of building construction, but extended to crafting fine furniture and other art, especially oil paintings. He was an avid hunter at his family's property in Big Run (PA) and enjoyed taking his boat out for walleye fishing on Lake Erie. He was the proud owner of a 1948 Chevrolet Stylemaster street rod and frequented many area car shows and cruise-ins. He was also an involved member of Asbury United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his brother, James "Jim" Zolner.
He will be greatly missed by his family, which includes his wife, Audrey "Elaine" (Brooks) Zolner whom he married on December 24, 1958 in Big Run; three daughters, Jan Peters (Rick), Jill Wellman (Jeff) and Jenifer DiSanti; two sisters, Diane Alexander (Bob) and Joy Lewis (Tim); two brothers, Robert Clark (Judy) and Thomas Clark (Debbie); as well as six grandchildren, Ryan Wellman (Mikaela), Lauren Wellman, Zachary Wellman, Kyle Wellman, Joseph DiSanti and Mia DiSanti; a great grandchild, Abel Wellman.
