David Hessong, Jr. Obituary

David V. Hessong Jr., 67, of Girard went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 25, 2021. 

David was born September 14, 1954 to David Vinton Hessong Sr. and Donna (Bushelman) Hessong in Cincinnati, OH. He married Mary Ann Yaros on July 10, 1976.  They were married for 45 years.  He live his adult life in Girard.  David loved his God, his family and his community.  His life was committed to the things he loved.  David was always available to his family and he was beloved of his nieces and nephews.  He opened his home to aged relatives unable to live alone and to youth in need.  David served his church through his work with the sound systems, his oversight of building projects and in his ministry to the youth group. David served his community with the Lake City Fire Company and the Erie County Sheriff's Posse through his aerial and underwater drone searches.  David's was a life well lived.  

David graduated from Rice Avenue Union High School in 1973. Following high school he enlisted in the United States Navy. He served with the Naval Mobile Construction Battalion One within the Atlantic Fleet, Achieving the rank of Petty Officer Third Class. After his honorable discharge he returned home to Girard. 

Dave began employment as a mechanic, over the years working with K-Mart Corporation, Cablemasters Corporation, and his own company, Dave's Car Care.  He then became a partner in ACME Earthworks, during which time he worked at the 2002 Salt Lake City and 2010 Vancouver Olympics. There he was involved in venue maintenance and snow removal. Most recently he was employed by Brandon C. Kennedy Construction and Excavating. 

David will be greatly missed by his family and friends which include his wife, Mary Ann; his foster daughter, Adrianna Schwartz (Isaak), his sisters, Linda Eiler (Jim) and Kimberly Hessong; sister-in-law, Colleen Pintea; his mother-in-law, Jeanne Yaros; many nieces and nephews; and his cat, Gracie.

A memorial service is planned for the Spring of 2022.
