David Dymski, 86, of Girard, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, May 15, 2021. He was born in Erie on April 13, 1935, a son of the late John and Helen (Bachmurski) Dymski.
David graduated from Cathedral Prep High School and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Languages from Gannon College. He also graduated from ROTC through Gannon and served as a US Army Intelligence Officer and as a Captain and Company Commander in the Pennsylvania National Guard for 8 years.
He taught foreign language at Fairview High School for 35 years and spent many summers painting, a love he inherited from his father. He served on the Girard School Board and taught CCD at St. John the Evangelist Church in Girard.
David was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Celestine Dymski and his brother Rev. J. Daniel Dymski.
David will be greatly missed by his wife of 60 years, Ann (DeLany) Dymski, his sister Mary Ellen Brown, a son, Jim Dymski (Lisa), and two daughters Jennifer Fails (Bill) and Kathy Simes (Joe). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at 9 AM on Saturday, May 22 at St. John the Evangelist Church in Girard, 101 Olin Avenue, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10AM.
