David A. Bushyeager

David A. Bushyeager, 70, of Girard, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at St. Vincent Hospital.

He was born May 22, 1952, in Erie, the son of the late Robert A. and Beverly (Swanson) Bushyeager.

Dave graduated from the Rice Avenue Union High School in 1970, where he was active in the Band, Chorus, Student Council, Vice President of the Class and involved in the high school plays. Following high school Dave went to work for Parker-White Metal (Now PHB) and continued there until his retirement in 2017. While working full time at PHB, Dave was well known in the area tending bar at Platz’s Tavern for many years.

He loved socializing with his friends and family and was a member of the Cascade Club, Sacred Heart Usher’s Club and Knight's of St John's. He also enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles.

He will be greatly missed by his family, which include his sisters, Nancy Cashdollar of Girard and Kathy Lyons (Ken) of Girard; a niece, Jennifer Cashdollar-Hammaker (Thom), nephews, Christopher Cashdollar (Miranda), and Brent Lyons (Jennifer); great nieces, Callie Rohrer, Addison Cashdollar and Laken Lyons; great nephews, Bryant Rohrer, Carson Cashdollar and Landon Lyons.

Please raise a toast to our brother Dave, “Uncle D”, “Davey”, “D.” He had a fantastic ride living life his way, and he never met a stranger, only someone who would immediately become a new friend. Dave was a calming voice of civility in a world that wasn't always so civil. And he had a sly sense of humor to compliment it.

Friends may call at Edder Funeral Home Inc., 309 Main St. East, Girard on Sunday from 1PM to 3PM and 5PM to the time of a Prayer Service at 7PM.
