Dale Williams Obituary

Dale E. Williams, 81, of Albion passed away on Monday, May 5, 2025, at Saint Vincent Hospital.

He was born on August 14, 1943, at home in Albion; a son to the late Richard E. and Dorothy E. (Price) Williams

Dale’s journey began in Albion, where he attended Albion High School. During those years, he took on various jobs-working at the local bowling alley, the Albion movie theater, and delivering newspapers.

In 10th grade, Dale joined the United States Naval Reserves, and after graduating from Northwestern High School in 1962, he enlisted in active duty with the U.S. Navy. He served aboard the USS Long Beach, the first nuclear-powered guided missile cruiser, CGN-9. During his service, he toured the Mediterranean, with stops in Italy, Sicily, Turkey, Spain, Africa, and many other ports.

He was honorably discharged in 1964 and returned to his hometown of Albion.

Upon returning, Dale took on a variety of jobs including Marx Toys in Girard, Norfolk Western Railroad, and Penn Union in Edinboro. Ultimately, his commitment was with the former Parker White Metal, later known as PHB. He dedicated over 40 years there until his retirement in 2005-a job faithfully and honorably done.

Dale was, above all else, a family man. He worked hard to provide for his loved ones, and even after a long day’s work, he was present for them. While he might have needed a bit of convincing for spontaneous fun, he always found joy in family gatherings, often sparking spur-of-the-moment picnics that brought everyone together. In his younger years, he ensured his family experienced adventures across the United States-from camping trips to thrilling roller coaster rides, always building lasting memories.

An avid golfer, Dale enjoyed time on the course, often with a cold brew in hand. He had a love for classic western movies and shows. In retirement, he and his beloved wife found joy in the simple things-sitting together on the back porch or watching the sunset over Lake Erie. They made their home in West Springfield until 2005 before moving to Florida for a few years, eventually returning home once more.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by; a brother, YNC U.S. Navy Richard Burdette Williams; sister, Jacquelyn June (Williams) Greenlee; and twin brothers David and Daniel and sister, Janet Joann in infancy.

He will be greatly missed by his family which include, his wife, united in marriage to Dianne Lynn Rauscher on Oct. 9, 1965, at the United Methodist Church in Albion, by Rev. Wayne B. Price; son, Dale Scott (Lori) Williams; daughter, Jennifer (Jason) Morgan; brother, Don Williams; and sister, Jody (Dave) Harayda. They were blessed with 5 grandsons, 3 granddaughters, and 12 great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

No calling hours will be observed per Dale’s request.
