Dale Sherman Obituary

Dale E. Sherman, 75, of Albion, died unexpectedly on Sunday, March 6, 2022, at his home.
 He was born July 13, 1946, in Erie, a son of the late James E. and Gladys (Jones) Sherman.
Dale graduated from Northwestern High School in 1964. Following high school, he immediately went to work for Lincoln Electric in Cleveland, where he began his life-long work in electricity and electronics. 
He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1966 and later deployed to Vietnam aboard a Carrier group where he maintained Marine Corps and Navy aviation equipment. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal with device, Vietnam Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon. Upon his honorable discharge from the military, he began working with RCA in Erie, where he was later transferred to Michigan for a number of years prior to returning to Erie. 
He with partners began the operation as owners of Electronic Communication Services, where he eventually retired from in 2019.
Dale was a proud supporter and sponsor of Northwestern Softball; a member of the Western Star Lodge #304 F&AM, The Albion American Legion Post# 246, the Cranesville Fire Department, where he was Past Chief and Assistant Chief, Albion VFW Post #2341, The Albion Moose Club, Vice President of the Hope Cemetery Board of Directors, a member of the Pioneer Steam & Gas Engine Society of NW PA, loved hunting his entire life and antique tractors (CASE).
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Mark A. Sherman and brother-in-law, Dale A. Peters. 
He will be greatly missed by his family, which includes his wife, Joyce A.(Rogers) Sherman, whom he married December 14, 1968 in Lake City; his daughter, Meredith A. Johnson (Shane); sons, Daniel E. Sherman (Sharon), Richard J. Sherman (Stacy) and Steven E. Sherman (Amy); grandchildren, Zoey, Zac, Derek, Kassidy, Nic, Sawyer, Emmalee, Elliott and Lindsay; great grandchildren, Rhett and Cooper; brothers, Roger Sherman (Sue), Brian Sherman (Joyce) and Eric Sherman (Becky); sister-in-law, Beverly Sherman (sons Alan and Adam); a special aunt, Elsie Callahan; step mother, Martha Sherman; step sisters, Rose Johnston, Delores Johnston; a step brother, Doug Johnston; sister-in-law, Judy M. Peters; brother-in-law, Ronald E. Rogers (Chris) and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Friday from 2PM to 4PM and 6PM to 8PM at Edder Funeral Home Inc., 309 Main Street East, Girard and are invited to attend services there on Saturday at 10 AM with Rev. Gary Wade officiating.
There will be a Masonic Service at the funeral home on Friday at 6 PM.
Burial with full military honors will be in Hope Cemetery.
