Dale Eichenlaub, 82, of West Springfield, passed away surrounded by his loving family on, Monday, October 7, 2024, at his home.
He was born on July 16, 1942, a son to the late Clarence and Mildred (Gray) Eichenlaub.
Dale grew up in Moreland Township in Central, PA graduating from East Lycoming High School. Following high school he enlisted into the United States Navy.
Upon his discharge from the military, Dale returned home and attended Lock Haven College graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. For a few years he worked in various jobs traveling. He settled in Erie where he was a bartender at The Saucery Tavern and Station Restaurant for a time before applying at Hammermill Paper Company, beginning his career in utility management. He worked over 25 years retiring as a Turbine Engineer with a job well done.
Dale enjoyed working in his woodshop adjacent to his home. He built the furniture for his home that stands sturdy to this day, creating tables, desks and bookshelves. In his younger years he enjoyed spending time in nature hunting for squirrels, as well as deer in the fall. Dale also fished on many local streams and Lake Erie. He loved his family and assisted in caring for his grandchildren. He was also extremely proud of having over 25 years of sobriety through the support of Alcoholic's Anonymous.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Leon and Wilber Eichenlaub.
He will be greatly missed by his family which include his wife Bonnie (Hensley) Eichenlaub, whom he married in 2002, a son, Mark Eichenlaub (Deanna); stepson, Scott Staszewski; sister, Margaret Huseby; and grandchildren, Anya and Kira Eichenlaub, Brandon, Lauren and Koen Adamski.

Friends may call on Friday, October 11, at Edder Funeral Home Inc., Girard from 5-7 pm with a memorial service starting 7 pm.
