Cindy L. (Chaffee) Shaw

Cindy L. (Chaffee) Shaw, 64, of Fairview, passed away on Saturday, August 19,
2023, at UPMC Hamot, following an extended illness.
She was born in Erie on January 3, 1959, a daughter of James Chaffee of Albion
and the late Barbara (Forbes) Chaffee.
Cindy graduated from Girard High School in 1976. During her high school days, she
worked as a “Candy Striper” at Pleasant Ridge Manor. Following high school, she
managed the Country Fair on Rice Avenue in Girard. Later, Cindy attended and
graduated from Lutheran Social Services School of Nursing in Jamestown, NY
where she received her Licensed Practical Nursing Certificate. She began her
nursing employment in Jamestown and later returned to Fairview where she was
employed by Weislogel’s Grocery Store in the deli department for many years. She
later returned to nursing, working at Manchester Lodge until becoming disabled.
She attended various churches in the community and was a life member of the
Pioneer Steam & Gas Engine Society of Meadville. She also enjoyed crocheting
projects for family and friends.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter.
Cindy will be greatly missed by her family, which include her long-time partner,
Matthew H. Lambert of Fairview; one daughter, Erika M. Shaw; a son, James Cory
Chaffee and fiancé, Kelly Myers; two sisters, Barbara “B.J.” Eaton (Rick), Sharon
McCabe (Harve); two brothers, David Chaffee (Michelle) and Robert “Bob” Chaffee
(Kathy) several nieces and nephews and her lovable dog, “Cassius.”
There will be no calling hours or services observed.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Edder Funeral Home Inc., Girard.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pioneer Steam & Gas Engine
Society, 16601, PA-198, Saegertown, PA 16433.
