Carole A. Denk

Carole A. Denk, 77, of Girard, passed away Friday, May 29, 2026.

She was born July 25, 1948, a daughter of the late Leon and Elizabeth (Lucas) Froess.

Carole graduated from Harborcreek High School. Following her education, she began working in a floral shop, where she met the man who would become her husband. Together they built a loving home and raised their family. Carole devoted herself to her children as a stay-at-home mother during their younger years. As they grew older, she entered the workforce and became a cafeteria attendant at Edinboro University, where she helped prepare and serve thousands of meals until her retirement.

Carole's greatest joy was her family and the home she lovingly cared for throughout her life. Each spring, colorful flowers filled her gardens, reflecting her early roots in the floral industry. Summers often found her relaxing beside the family pool or enjoying the laughter of children gathered around it. She prepared meals from the heart for those she loved and found pleasure in quieter moments spent knitting or transforming ceramic pieces into beautiful works of art that she often shared as gifts with family and friends.

The family enjoyed many camping adventures together, making memories in parks throughout the region and beyond. In retirement, Carole and her husband traveled extensively, taking in the beauty and experiences this country had to offer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Denk, whom she married on September 25, 1971.

She will be greatly missed by her family, including her daughters, Lisa Horowitz (Joshua) and Michelle Wheeler (Chris); her sons, Ronald Denk (Dusti) and David Denk (Sara); brother,Ronald Froess; sister, Elaine Glance; her grandchildren, Zachary, Lily, Cyera, Olivia, Jocelyn, and Grace; and her great-grandchildren, Levana and Mercy.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 6:00 p.m. at Edder Family Funeral Home, LLC, 309 Main Street East, Girard.
