Carol Kumburis, 72, of Albion, passed away on September 20, 2025, at Saint Vincent Hospital.
She was born on October 18, 1952, a daughter of the late Edward and Dorothy Marion.
Carol was a graduate of Eastside High School. Following her education, she entered the workforce as a clerk in medical records, later advancing to the position of Senior Coder.
She retired from Northwell Health after a dedicated career.
Carol cherished the peace and comfort of her home. She found joy in cooking and baking each evening and often spent time admiring the views of Lake Erie from Raccoon Park or Presque Isle. Her interests were broad, fueled by her voracious love of reading-when a book captured her attention, she eagerly turned its pages. Carol was also a talented quilter, creating intricate and beautiful pieces that she exhibited at the Albion Fair. A lover of animals, she enjoyed the companionship of her dog and her flock of chickens, happily embracing the role of a small farmer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Alvin, and by her brother, Edward Marion.
She will be deeply missed by her family, including her husband, Luke Kumburis, whom she married on March 25, 2001; her stepsons, Luke D. Kumburis and Daniel P. Kumburis; her brother, Michael Marion; and her grandchild, Violet Kumburis.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Penny Burrows and Mary Taylor for their dedicated care and help in Carol’s later years.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest Pennsylvania, 1507 Grimm Drive, Erie, PA 16501.
In accordance with her wishes, no calling hours will be observed. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Edder Family Funeral Home, LLC.
