Betty A. (Kuhns) Novel

Betty A. Novel, 77, of Girard died on Monday, August 23, 2021.

She was born on September 21, 1943 in Union City, PA, a daughter of the late Francis and Gladys (VanTassel) Kuhns.

Betty graduated from Ft. LeBoeuf High School in 1963. Following high school she moved to the Girard area and worked as an Inspector at Town Square Pie company (now Maple Donuts), all while raising her family. She then worked with Hopkins and most recently for Jack Burns Manufacturing where she retired in 1992.

Betty enjoyed vegetable gardening and canning what she had grown. She was an avid bowler at Lake City Lanes and Rolling Meadows. She also enjoyed crocheting and cooking family dinners.

She will be greatly missed by her family, which includes her husband of over fifty years, Edward "Eddie" R. Novel; three daughters, Doreen Machinski, Kimberly Novel and, Jennifer Pruchniewski (Joe); a brother, Bernie Kuhns; and two grandsons, Justin Machinski and Nicholas Machinski; a great-granddaughter, Abigail Machinski.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Pennsylvania Chapter, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.

Friends may call on Friday, August 27, 2021 at the Edder Funeral Home, Inc., 309 Main St. E., Girard, from 11:00 AM to the time of service at 1:00 PM. Burial will take place at Riceville Cemetery.
