Barbara L. Slupski

Barbara L. Slupski, 82, of Girard, passed away on Friday January 3, 2025 at UPMC Hamot.  She was born November 16, 1942, a daughter to the late Harold and Viola (Mosher) Moritz.

Barb graduated from Harborcreek High School before entering the workforce. She worked as a paralegal for some years before transferring her skills to Penn Attorneys where she conducted title searches. 

Barb was a wonderful cook and enjoyed entertaining, especially during the holidays. Baking Christmas cookies was one of her most cherished holiday traditions. She often was the hostess for the family's large celebrations and was admired for her skills. In her younger years, she enjoyed gardening and loved growing fresh vegetables for canning. Later in life, she enjoyed playing bingo, crafts, and watching movies.  Above all, she loved her family.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Moritz.

Barb will be greatly missed by her family which includes her daughter, Theresa Shaner (Donald); son, Douglas Slupski; grandchildren, David Shaner, Caitlin Shaner, Cassandra Shaner, Amanda Doctor (Blake), Allison Slupski; and one great-grandchild, Rowen Doctor.
 
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rice Avenue Community Public Library, 705 Rice Avenue, Girard, PA 16417.
 
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Burial will take place at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
