Barbara (Rist) Roberts

Barbara (Rist) Roberts, 76, of Girard, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, January 15, 2023, surrounded by her family.

She was born October 18, 1946, a daughter to the late Roy A "Bud" and Charlotte (Brownlee) Rist.

Barb graduated from Rice Avenue Union High School in 1964. Following high school, she moved to Columbus Georgia where she worked at a local hospital. She also worked at Pine Oak Manor. After returning home, Barb went to work at Gannon University. She stayed with Gannon University as an Administrative Facilitator trying to ease the organization of students and colleagues until her retirement.

She loved to be at home and use her hands to create and craft many fine holiday gifts. Barb enjoyed attending craft shows seeing the wonderful creations. She knitted as well as crocheted throughout her life. Barb enjoyed using colored pencils to shade and add depth to many pictures. In her younger years she was very involved in her son’s life. She enjoyed cooking homemade meals as well as her animals that she cared for, particularly Bebe her cat. She also enjoyed bowling with friends and family at Westway Lanes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Brandon Roberts.

She will be greatly missed by her family which include her sister, Peggy Sutch; brothers, Duane and Jack Rist; nieces, Lisa Vasilik (Andy) and Kim Irwin (Nevin); as well as many cousins and relatives.

With her wishes there will be no calling hours observed. Burial will be held at Platea Cemetery.
