Barbara Ferguson

Barbara Ferguson, 83, of Fairview, passed away following a battle with cancer on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at her home surrounded by family.

She was born July 11, 1941, a daughter to the late Ray W. and Lillian M. (Smith) Reese.

Barb graduated from Conneaut Lake High School and continued her education at Erie Business School, earning an associate’s degree. Soon after, she married and started a family, dedicating herself to being a stay-at-home mother. As her children grew and entered school, Barb began working at the Fairview School District. During her more than twenty year career, she held multiple positions, primarily focusing on clerical work.

Barb and her husband cherished Sunday drives and bicycle rides, often exploring the state's scenic rails to trails. She was an avid reader, with a particular fondness for westerns and detective novels. Camping in Andover brought her joy, offering a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature.

Known as Auntie Fuzzy, Barb was a proud member of the Erie Jolly Jesters, always sharing her infectious smile. She was also a member of the Fairview Presbyterian Church. In addition, she and her husband participated in an annual Koinonia retreat, strengthening their faith and connections. Barb's commitment extended to the Lima Ladies 3/7, a group tied to her husband's service in the United States Marine Corps.

A special thank you to the care givers during the last days, Brandy, Darla, Kymberly, Paula, Sandy, and Annie.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Reese.

Barb will be greatly missed by her family which includes her husband, Mordie Ferguson, who she married on June 11,1966; daughter, Ann Tuschak (Timothy); son, Ray Ferguson (Gail); sister, Mary Roach (Jeff); brother, Robert Reese; grandchildren, Morgan, Marshall, and Kya Tuschak, Logan and Layna Ferguson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Barbara’s name to the Fairview Presbyterian Church,  4264 Avonia Road, Fairview, PA 16415.

Friends may call on Thursday March 27, 2025, from 2:00 pm to the time of service at 4:00pm at the Edder Family Funeral Home, LLC, 309 Main St E, Girard.
