Barbara L. Crowe (Wheeler), 77, of Lake City, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2024.
She was born on July 26, 1946, to the late John and Evelyn (Platz) Wheeler.
Barb was a graduate of Rice Avenue Union High School in 1964. After high school, she went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in nursing from St. Vincent's Nursing School in 1967. She worked in Erie for some time before being moved to Buffalo, New York, to start a Cardiac Care Clinic. Barb continued her career in health care, working in family practice, the drug and alcohol unit, until retiring in 2019 from a nursing home in Conneaut, Ohio.
In her leisure, Barb enjoyed growing her own garden, cooking, and baking for her family, and most of all, she loved animals, especially her cats. She was a member of the Girard United Methodist Church and was a lifelong member of a women's sorority group.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her twin sister, Bonnie Williams.
She will be deeply missed by her son, David M. Crowe; daughter, Heather Merritt; ex-husband, David M. Crowe; sister, Nancy Peters (Ronald); grandchildren, Zane D. Crowe, EJ, and Rylee Merritt; and one great-grandson, Jackson Crowe.
Per Barb's wishes, services are to be private at the convenience of the family.
