Barbara J. (Johnson) Aurand

Barbara J. (Johnson) Aurand, 73, of Lake City, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born on October 27, 1952, in Erie County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Johnson Sr. and Doris (Henry) Johnson. Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker whose greatest joy in life was caring for her family.

Barbara married Walter Aurand Jr. on September 9, 1970, and together they shared more than 50 years of marriage. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, baking, gardening, visiting the casino, and attending her grandchildren's sporting events. She was known for her kind heart, generous spirit, and the love she freely gave to everyone around her.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Johnson, and her brother, Larry Johnson.

She is survived by her husband, Walter Aurand Jr.; her sons, Shawn Johnson (Serina), Patrick Aurand, and Walter "Wally" Aurand III (Nicole); her sister, Nancy Gray; her brothers, Robert Johnson Jr. (Carol) and Thomas Johnson; her grandchildren, Vanessa Johnson (Nicole), Tanessa Johnson, Elijah Johnson (Emily), Victoria Gorton, and Shauna Gorton; her great-grandchildren, Christian Johnson, Brycen Johnson, Jayliauna Robinson, Taylor Johnson, and Jayvion Robinson; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Barbara Aurand Memorial Fund under the care of Edder Family Funeral Home, 309 Main St. E., Girard, PA 16417.

A private family gathering and celebration of Barbara's life will be held at a later date.
