Arlene A. Goodwin

Arlene Avis Goodwin, 86, a loving wife and mother passed away on Friday Feb 26, 2021.
Arlene was born September 23, 1934 in Harborcreek, PA the youngest daughter to the late John and Mildred (Scott) Eastman. 

  Arlene married William "Bill" Goodwin on October 30, 1954 in North East and became a vital part of Goodwin Farms and Greenhouses until their retirement in 2007.  She was the friendly face of the market on Old French Rd in the summer and fall, and at the greenhouses from January to May. Her knowledge of flowers and produce was only surpassed by her friendly smile and willingness to help customers.

  Arlene had a kind and generous heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand to others. Her jams and jellies, pies, brownies and soups brought a smile to many faces, and making and sharing them  brought warmth to her heart.

  In addition to her parents Arlene was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia and Ruby; five brothers, Wilford, Raymond, Donnie, Dayton and Darrell Eastman; her mother-in-law Helen and father-in-law Paul Goodwin ; her brother-in-law, David and his wife Janet Goodwin.  

  She will be greatly missed by her family which includes, her husband of 66 years, Bill; a daughter Candy Crone (Carl); two sons, William Goodwin (Linda), and Barry Goodwin; a grandson Shane Goodwin; brother-in-laws, Paul and Don Goodwin; sister-in-laws, Etta and Joan Eastman; as well as many nieces and nephews. 

  It is the family’s wish that you honor Arlene’s life at this time by being kind, you never know who could use a helping hand, a kind word, a few moments of your time.
 In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Lake City United Methodist Church 10087 Sampson Ave, Lake City, PA 16423 or the Lake City Fire Company 2232 Rice Ave, Lake City, PA 16423
Funeral Services will be held privately by the family. 
Due to Covid-19, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
