Angela R. (Metz) Brooks

Angela R. (Metz) Brooks, 54, of Girard, lost her battle with ovarian cancer on Monday, July 25, 2022. 
She was born in Martins Ferry, OH on January 22, 1968 to the late Kenneth F. and Evelyn E. (Davis) Metz. 
Angela attended Bellaire High School where she graduated in 1986. Following high school, she continued her education at Ohio University where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism. Upon graduation, she worked as a reporter at several newspapers in Ohio and Pennsylvania. She then moved her skills to Gannon University in Erie where she worked in media relations. Most recently, Angela worked as a proofreader at Jameson Publishing.
In 2001, she left full-time employment as her family became her main focus. Angela was a stay-at-home mom who was very involved in the lives of her children. She was a longtime member of the Elk Valley Elementary PTO. She also found great joy in helping others as a coordinator for several fundraisers. Angela often brought her friends and extended family together for gatherings at the family home she and her husband designed together. 
Angela is survived by her husband, Matthew Brooks, whom she married June 26, 1993; their two sons, Jacob and Mitchell Brooks; sisters, Kenna Major (John) and Linda Metz; brother, John Metz (Karen); as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. 
Friends may call on Friday, July 29, 2022 at the Edder Funeral Home Inc. 309 Main St. E. Girard, PA from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. A Funeral Service will be held there the following day, Saturday, at 10:00 A.M. A private burial will be held at Girard Cemetery.
