Andrzej “Andy” Benjamin Bajek, 69, of Fairview passed away on Monday, December 1st, 2025. He was born in Wroclaw, Poland on February 6, 1956, the son of Leokadia Maria Bajek (Szczepura) and the late Ryszard Bajek.
He graduated from a power engineering technical school in Wroclaw in 1975. After he operated a small retail store in the area until 1987, when he won a green card in the Polish Lottery and immigrated directly to Erie, Pennsylvania. In 1990, he obtained a CDL and became an owner/operator of a small trucking company he named Polar Bear Trucking in New York, New York. On September 28, 2000, Andrzej worked very hard to be admitted as a citizen of the United States of America. He enjoyed driving across 48 states of America with his truck for 25 years.
Andrzej loved adventure, from skiing black diamonds and snowmobiling in Breckenridge, CO, to hiking in the Mohonk Preserve, NY, to fishing in Lake Erie, PA, to kayaking in the Everglades, FL, to even snorkeling and cave jumping in the Riviera Maya, MX. In his younger years, he enjoyed visiting the Polish countryside of Dolistowo, where his mother was born. He was a devoted sports fan of boxing and Polish Soccer, especially player Robert Lewandowski. He was an exceptionally caring, outgoing, fun-loving man who enjoyed spending time with his family, including dancing, cooking, playing Uno, and movie nights.
In addition to his mother, Leokadia, Andrzej leaves behind his loving family, including his wife, Jozefina Bajek; his daughter, Victoria Bajek; his brothers & their wives, Janusz & Helena along with their children Irek, Jack, and Sylwia and Arthur & Margaret Bajek with their children Caroline and Alan; as well as two daughters Kasia and Ania and son Tomek in Poland, numerous cousins, and in-laws.
Services will be held privately by the family.
