Amy Sherman Obituary

Amy Lynn (Wilcox) Sherman, 50, of Cranesville, passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.
She was born on January 11, 1976, in Warsaw, New York, a daughter of William and Linda (Blaszak) Wilcox.
Amy graduated from Warsaw High School in 1994 and moved to Edinboro to continue her education. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Biology with minors in mathematics and oceanography from Edinboro University in 1998. Following her graduation, she started her own family with her husband. She later began working at FOSECO Foundry as a chemist. The company was eventually purchased by Vesuvius Corporation, where she served as a Lab Manager and Quality Control Manager, overseeing advanced refractory products for the steel industry. She worked there for over twenty years and deeply loved her job.
In her free time, Amy loved being outdoors; camping, kayaking, hiking, going on ATV rides, and exploring back roads in her Jeep. She also loved taking pictures and capturing every moment she could. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family and playing card and board games together.
Amy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Shirley and Donald Stack & Evelyn and Lyle Wilcox, and her father-in-law, Dale Sherman.
She leaves behind her loving family, including her husband, Steven Sherman, whom she married on August 26, 2000; her daughters, Emmalee Sherman (Greg) and Lindsay Sherman (Andrew); her son, Elliott Sherman (Mackendra); her sisters, Heather Gebhardt (Troy) and Taralee Rea (George); her mother-in-law, Joyce Sherman; and in-laws, Dan Sherman (Sharon), Richard Sherman (Stacy), and Meredith Johnson (Shane);  as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Amy’s name may be made to the Cranesville Fire Department, 9920 Meadville St., Cranesville, PA 16410.
