Allen A. Amidon

Allen A. Amidon, 86, of Girard, passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at Pleasant Ridge Manor.

He  was born in Erie on June 22, 1936, a son of the late Elmer and Minnie (Hopkins) Amidon.
Allen was raised and educated in Girard graduating from the Rice Avenue Union High School in 1955. Following high school he attended Erie Commercial College where he studied accounting.
 
He began his working career at Felix & Ferrick Construction managing their office for 25 years. He later worked at Pleasant Ridge Manor where he volunteered with Friends Forever, taking care of their books.
 
He was life long member of the Girard Presbyterian Church where he was a Deacon and Usher. He was an avid sportsman, especially enjoying baseball, and an avid Detroit Tigers Fan.
 
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Amidon on October 28, 1988, and a nephew, Carl A. Amidon on August 12, 2019.
 
He is survived by his nieces, Amy Amidon and Sarah Amidon both of Erie; a nephew, Chris Amidon of Bradford and niece in law, Laura Amidon of Erie.

Friends may call on Sunday from 6PM to 8PM at Edder Funeral Home Inc., 309 Main St. East, Girard and are invited to attend services there on Monday at 10 AM.

 Burial will be in the Girard Cemetery.
